Following the release of his signature tube amp, Satriani has been playing with chunkier strings more often. To ensure clear string-to-string sound, the distance between the specific parts of the coils that shape the middle frequencies has been slightly increased, without increasing the DC resistance. The result is higher output and clearer sound when compared to the Joe's former go-to bridge humbucker, the DiMarzio FRED.
